Grupo Salinas is a cooperative in the town of Salinas de Guaranda. It was established in 1970 to unify the people of the town in a direct approach to tackle the widespread poverty crippling the region. Focusing on the intergrated rural developement,forty or so years later the communityʼs unique approach has brought economic prosperity previously unseen to the region,and is a model of developement being replicated elsewhere.
These cacao beans were produced and sold through Grupo salinas and have both organic and rain forest alliance certification.
